STUFFit Student Film Festival

St John’s College and the STUFFit Student Management Team were proud to host the sixth annual STUFFit Student Film Festival at BCC, Maroochydore.  This year we are pleased to announce that our major sponsor for 2017 and 2018 will be the University of the Sunshine Coast, School of Communication and Creative Industries.
For the past five years, the STUFFit Student Film Festival Competition has been a force of creative and entrepreneurial excellence for high school students around Australia. Due to the increase in film entries and access to the event, we are continuing to hold the student film festival event in Maroochydore!
This year, the festival took place on Saturday 7th October, 2017.  The shortlisted and finalist films were screened from 11am to 5pm.  The awards presentation took place in the foyer with MP Ted O'Brien and Councillor Rogerson among the special guest presenters.  Refreshments were served for all at the end of the exciting day by the Hospitality students.  The STUFFit Management Team succeeded in running the event to a professional standard.
Each year, 50 – 100 entries are received from high school students across Australia, ranging from engaging documentaries to hilarious comic and live films. Next year, we are going International creating a database to include New Zealand. STUFFit is an unstoppable student-driven entity, fine-tuned and organised by a committee of dedicated and committed St. John’s College students.  Each year, as the older students finish school, new members are welcomed into this busy team.
If you would like up to date information on workshops and other STUFFit related news, checkout the STUFFit Facebook page to receive information as it becomes available.
All students who are budding film makers, are encouraged to enter their films into the STUFFit Student Film Festival Competition. The due date for film entries is Friday, 13th July, 2018. Check our website for more details on how to enter.
Happy filming!

STUFFit Student Film Festival is pleased to announce that we have received a minor grant from the Sunshine Coast Council to run film workshops for local high school students.  This means we can offer a heavily discounted 2 Day In the Bin film course run by Queensland Touring Film Festival. For the 2 day workshop students will only need to pay $45!!!!
We had the pleasure of hosting the 2 day In the Bin workshop two years ago and the students enjoyed it immensely and learned heaps.  It has taken us 2 years to be able to offer it again.
Please find attached information and registration forms.  Time is short, please let us know asap if you are interested or know someone who might be interested in attending. We look forward to having you, or someone you know participate in this exciting opportunity.
