I.T. Support Technician Position for Term 4 2017

Fixed Term position for Term 4 2017.  Up to 52 weeks per year including school holidays.  Position is 38 hours per week, School Officer Level 4.  Commencing October, 2017, with a review for a continuing position.  Job Reference 01792 , closing 15 October at 7pm.

St John's College is seeking a dedicated and efficient IT Support Technician to join our friendly and professional team here at the College. Typical duties/skills performed include, but not limited to: The ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, BCE, community and external suppliers; show initiative and flexibility in adapting to the complexities of the College; possess excellent organizational skills to achieve effective time management and general planning; Sound knowledge of Microsoft environment, hardware and software including the ability to reimage, configure software and resolve known hardware issues; provide staff and student support before school and during both breaks concerning laptop problems and general student support matters; provide support to staff logging requests via help desk; deal with day to day student laptop issues ensuring that students are provided support in the completion of paperwork required by IT Services such as damage reports and hot swap agreements; enter student laptop data into laptop database where warranty or ADP issues are involved. To book laptop support requests with laptop support vendors whenever ADP or warrant issues arise; to liaise with laptop support vendors regarding student laptop repair and warranty claims whenever vendors are unable to meet their service level agreements; ensure that repair details are updated in the Student Laptop Database; re-image student laptops where necessary; Reset student and staff active directory, and student BCE passwords upon request as well identity management of any other systems; assist teaching staff in classrooms with various IT equipment & procedures; maintain staff hot swap laptops and ensure the responsibility of each laptop is maintained; and to work with the IT Manager on special projects as they arise from time to time. . Discretion and judgement are required for self and/or others in planning, selection of equipment, work organisation, services, actions and achieving outcomes within time constraints. . Tertiary qualifications at Certificate level or equivalent qualifications relevant to the position may be required or such knowledge, qualifications and experience that are deemed by the employer as necessary to successfully carry out the duties of the position.The role holder will also need to have demonstrated experience in managing resources and time, must be well presented, have a positive attitude and work well in a team in a school environment.
